On behalf of a customer Canford Classics recently imported this 1968 911 in from the US. It was specifically chosen due to build date and vin as it is being built into a TR. The owner has spent a wealth of time and funds in order to locate the correct factory supplied sports purpose parts for this project. The shell has been stripped down in preparation for media blasting. As per many of these early 911, even those from sunnier climates, at first glance the car looks very solid but it is not until the car is stripped that the real condition can be assessed. This car requires both inner and outer sills, both rear wings, a-posts, kidney bowls, jack points and plates, front slam panel,  and localised repairs on the rear inner wings.

The shell is due for media blasting Nov 2011 and then the body work restoration stage can begin. Whilst waiting, smaller jobs have commenced. The first job was to remove the roof vent as per TR spec. Also all the suspension parts have been stripped and refurbished, plus the wiring loom has also been fully cleaned, checked and re-wrapped.
